If you’re familiar with my blog then you’ll know that I had a really difficult birth with Jack and four months on, my recovery is far from over. I was told in December that I would be needing a surgery to completely recover from my birth and to not have pain down there. Hearing this news was so deavastating since I felt like I was finally mentally recovering from my birth and I felt like I was starting to come to terms with the physical aspect that I’ve been finding so difficult to overcome. To be told this news was so heartbreaking and I kind of fell back into the dark hole that postpartum recovery can be! I’ve been trying SO hard to pick myself up and feel better but I’ll be the first to admit (and openly) that postpartum recovery SUCKS.

Well, this post was supposed to be about good news! David and I decided to recently take our healthcare private under a family plan (where we live the public healthcare is really good) since I was having to see so many doctors for my recovery and we want to feel secure that if we ever need to see a doctor immediately for Jack, we are covered. We decided that we would go to see another doctor for a second opinion and after being on a list for three months to see the best doctor in our city, I finally went this week! The doctor was so lovely and she took the time to explain everything to me. She gave me three options for my recovery and surgery was the last! Instead of insisting that it is the only option, she has suggested physio, injections and then surgery. I left the office feeling so much more confident about everything and since then I have been trying my best to keep a healthy mind.

I will start seeing another doctor in two months to start the first set of treatment and let’s see how it goes!! šŸ™‚
